Hey, y'all!
In Sunday's newsletter I included a little blip about where each satellite stands in terms of becoming self-sufficient. Let's just say some of you are doing better than others. ;-)
I asked you to become a monthly donor at $25/mo. I'm sure most people assumed, "Someone else will do it." Well, it would be great if that person was YOU!
Those numbers above are not going towards salaries for our staff. Those are strictly costs to host the meetings in your satellite every month. It includes rent for the venue, speaker and travel expenses, and supplies costs (like name tags).
I gave a speech at Texas Tough that I'd like you to listen to. Hopefully it's inspirational, but it's also a good snapshot of where TTP is at financially statewide.
(Hint: I listen to everything at double time!)
Please consider jumping in and helping. Fran and I try hard not to bug anyone too much about fundraising, but at the same time, we've got to start breaking even! Yes, we have "big money donors" that keep us afloat, thankfully, but they do have expectations that each satellite will become self-sufficient. We'll have to keep making pleas if folks don't step up now. That's not where I want to spend my time, and it's not where I'm most useful, but it's a necessary part of being activists! Remember, we pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.
You can donate specifically to your satellite by clicking the green bar below:
Thank you! If it wasn't a big deal, I wouldn't interrupt your day to ask! Julie
True Texas Project works hard to train and engage activists. Can you help? We are 100% donation-based. Click here to donate to our movement. TrueTexasProject.com
