During this time of COVID-19 and massive government interventions, it’s got me thinking… how would Tom Coburn respond?
I think if Tom were still with us, he’d want us to be practicing an attitude of defiance, and commonsense compliance. He was highly skeptical of government exercises of power, and always started from that place.
Of course, as a doctor, he’d look at the evidence and want us to practice good, safe lifestyle choices right now. But to simply submit without questioning....no way. That wasn’t in Tom’s nature.
We need to continue his work, carrying on his spirit, by challenging the status quo, and taking the power away from government officials (especially in DC) and returning it to the people.
This is the work of Convention of States, which he called “the most important work of my life.”
So we’ve established the Tom Coburn Legacy Fund to continue his lifelong mission to defend liberty and rein in government overreach — permanently.

In one of Tom’s last recorded interviews he said, “So the question for me is, for the rest of my life, will I work to secure the future for the next generation? I believe this country can cheat history. This republic can survive. This republic can achieve more than we have ever achieved before. So let’s go do it [call a Convention of States]. I’m in this til the end… whenever that is.”
