Our campaign is finally starting to break through after
months of hard work. A recent
CBS poll from Wisconsin had us at 8% in a 3-way race, including 22%
among voters 18-30 and 16% among voters 30-44. Since I was arrested
with my campaign manager and deputy campaign manager last week in St.
Louis, we’ve had a flood of media inquiries and back-to-back
interviews with major media outlets. We got a big endorsement from
world-renowned Columbia University Professor Jeffrey Sachs, and we’ve
raised over $100,000 just in the last week. People seem to be waking
up to the fact that ours is the one anti-genocide, pro-worker, climate
action campaign with a real shot of being on the ballot in every state
this November.
But it all depends on what happens in the next three weeks
in New York. If we hit our
goal in New York, we’re well on the way to nationwide ballot access -
which would make us the first Green presidential campaign to achieve
this milestone. With multiple systemic crises hitting at the same time
and rejection of the establishment candidates at a record high, the
sky is the limit for what lies ahead in this race - including a real
shot at the White House.
But if we miss the ballot in New
York, it would be a major blow to this campaign and to our hopes of
building the new major party we so badly need.
This is a do-or-die moment, and we need you to rise to the
challenge. I was in New York
on day one to help launch the ballot drive, and I am planning to
return as soon as possible to rally support to get our campaign and
the Green Party back on the ballot. I hope you will join me - or
support us however you can.
Right now, New York is the best
hope the parties of war and Wall Street have to trip us up and smother
the momentum we are building every day. We can’t let them get away
with using their power to lock us out of democracy - not without
fighting with everything we’ve got.
If you believe in this movement for people, planet, and
peace that we have struggled so hard for so many years to build, I ask
you to rise to meet the challenge of this historic moment and do
whatever you can to help us get on the ballot in New
York.
