Seven years ago today, Spread The Vote launched with a wonderful day of volunteer training in Atlanta. Since that first day, we have: helped over 12,000 people obtain IDs, helped thousands of incarcerated citizens vote [ [link removed] ], trained dozens and dozens of agencies and organizations to get IDs for their clients, launched a 501c4 that introduced a bill to Congress [ [link removed] ], wrote a book [ [link removed] ], and have built a wonderful community of dedicated people who care deeply about making sure every person in this country has an ID.
Almost everyone on staff at STV has been here since the first year, many since the first day. We’re a small team, we love our work, and we know how lucky we are to get to spend every day helping people change their lives. We also love our volunteers, and on our 7th anniversary we wanted to share a video with one of our very first volunteers, and one half of the team that got our very first IDs!
Chris de Rosa is a force to be reckoned with. She is almost certainly the leading expert on IDs in Virginia, she has obtained over 1000 IDs with her Arlington team and is an inspiration to all of us every day. So enjoy this interview and thank you for the support, we wouldn’t have made it seven years without you!
Help us celebrate our anniversary with a donation [ [link removed] ], and any donation marked *Arlington* will go to our Arlington chapter as a thank you for their incredible impact!
Thank you so, so much,
Kat and the STV+PID team
