Dear Friend,

I’m excited for you to see EPPC’s new Annual Report, documenting my colleagues’ many achievements and impact over 2023. As you’ll see, EPPC is flourishing, and our efforts to bring about renewal in American public life are bearing good fruit.

READ THE REPORT
The Ethics and Public Policy Center is the premier institute working to apply the riches of the Jewish and Christian traditions to contemporary questions of law, culture, and politics. In a polarized political and cultural environment, EPPC promotes a true and full account of human nature and human flourishing across critical areas of public life and public policy—and we do so with intellectual rigor and civility. EPPC is proactive, anticipating future challenges and preparing now to meet them when they come.

There is no shortage of organizations offering hot takes and social-media memes, but EPPC takes a different approach. Across the broad array of challenges that our nation faces, EPPC scholars vigorously promote public policies faithful to American ideals.

We believe that America is built on social and moral values that are true and good. Yet thinkers on both left and right no longer agree on what it means to be an American and appear to be giving up on the American project altogether.

EPPC’s scholars defend liberty and limits, balancing sound public norms and tolerance for dissent while fostering the institutions that form us in virtue. EPPC scholars are not pundits. Rather than chasing the day-to-day headlines, we identify the long-term, civilizational issues that matter for human dignity, identity, and flourishing, and then engage the generational questions that matter most with intellectual rigor and rhetorical charity, seeking to heal divisions within conservatism.

In this effort, we’re profoundly grateful for the friendship of our supporters. Thanks to your generosity, our work in 2023 had an outsized influence on a conservative movement that is philosophically up for grabs. Looking ahead to the coming election, EPPC is prepared for a year of challenges and unique opportunities as we work to expose the radical progressive agenda and promote the common good in all its aspects.

I hope you’ll enjoy the report, which you can find here. Thank you for being part of this mission.

Sincerely,

Ryan T. Anderson
