I am writing to you with an emergency request to support Indigenous communities in the Ecuadorian Amazon who are facing an urgent crisis due to severe flooding, which has destroyed homes, schools, and gardens which provide necessary food sources for survival.
With unprecedented rains due to climate change, the Bobonaza River has overflowed and brought unparalleled devastation to the Kichwa, Shiwiar, and Andwa nationalities and communities including Sarayaku, Teresa Mama, Santa Rosa, Jatun Yaku, Kapirna, and Ikiam. 650 families have lost their homes and need our solidarity today!
100% of all donations will go directly to affected communities
Considering this climate and humanitarian emergency, would you be willing to contribute a gift of solidarity and support – whether it is $10, $100, $500, $1,000, or more? Generous donors have already committed $10,000 towards the $50,000 needed for flood relief. Can you help us raise the rest?
Your generosity can make a tangible difference right now! With your support, we aim to provide solidarity funding for the following:
- Essential food and medical kits for affected families
- Potable water and sanitation supplies
- Supplies to clean up and repair their homes after the flooding
These resources will offer immediate relief to remote Indigenous communities grappling with a climate-related natural disaster. Please help us answer this urgent call today!
Thank you for your unwavering compassion and support!
