Dear John,
Punctuated by the need for affordable broadband access during the global health pandemic, the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law provides over $42 billion to build internet access, a major investment to close the nation's digital divide.
Equally significant is the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a broadband subsidy program to assist low-income households and other communities with the monthly cost of subscription with internet service providers.
One-time ACP funding is running out, and while extending it has garnered bipartisan support, its extension has stalled in committee – with House Speaker Mike Johnson decrying government spending as the excuse for not moving an ACP funding bill to the floor.
We must fight back. Sign on today to demand immediate action on extending funding for ACP.

ACP has provided has benefitted over 23 million low-income households nationwide – aiding students, workers, older adults, rural communities, tribal communities, and more in their ability to do school assignments, conduct job searches, work, receive medical care, rely on emergency services, access public benefits, and connect with other information and resources.
ACP lightened the financial burden of low-income households so they do not have to make tough choices about putting food on the table or paying a utility bill over having internet access. At a time when too many things aren’t adding up for our families, we can’t accept closing this critical lifeline.
Sign on today to demand immediate action on extending funding for ACP. Parking lots and fast food restaurants are no places for learning, receiving medical care, and conducting job searches.

Let's continue the critical lifeline of ACP --- lives and livelihoods are at stake.
Thank you,
Betty
