We are so grateful for everything that Bernie brought to the 2020 Democratic primary conversation and we know many of you are, too. That’s why we wanted to take a moment to share a note of appreciation with him today.

Bernie Sanders has changed American politics forever.

Big, progressive policies that seemed impossible just a few years ago have gone mainstream. Bernie’s campaign boldly advocated and fought for Medicare for All and a Green New Deal — policies that would ensure every American not only survives but thrives in the wealthiest country in the world.

But most importantly, Bernie excited millions and was a driving force behind a movement that is so much bigger than one campaign or one election. That momentum will shape politics in our country for generations to come, and inspire a new generation of leadership.

While this campaign may be over, this fight continues, especially as the COVID-19 crisis continues to shine a glaring spotlight on the frailty of our institutions and the severity of racial and economic inequality in this country. We’ll be there every step of the way — including fighting side by side with Bernie and other champions in Congress to ensure that the federal government's response to the COVID-19 crisis meets ALL of people's needs, especially those who have been hardest hit.
