John, I look at what’s going on in Washington, what the House Republican majority has done over the last two years.
They’ve taken us from crisis to crisis. They’ve been focused on some of the most extreme culture war fights you can imagine. They’ve fought to ban abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest, they’ve defended the ex-President who tried to rip our Constitution to shreds, they’ve voted for a handout to their billionaire donors and corporate bosses.
They aren’t fighting for what the people of Western Pennsylvania care about.
I’ve fought to make a real difference for folks here at home. I’ve worked to strengthen congressional ethics, protect us from dangerous and toxic train derailments, and fight back against the corrupting force of big money in politics in the face of attacks against our democracy.
But folks, there’s a hell of a lot more that we can get done for people. And there’s a lot we’ve got to protect too.
Republicans want to keep control of the House so they can keep tearing away your rights. I want to defend this seat because I think we’ve got to flip the House and start fighting for the people we represent, not Republicans’ mega donors.
It’s going to be an all-hands-on-deck race though John. Dark money right-wing groups are already running attack ads against me, so if we’re going to protect this seat, our work has to start today.
