We all need to do our part to stay home, wash our hands, and stop the spread of the Coronavirus. But helping our neighbors and keeping this country healthy means making sure we take care of those who need it most. That’s why it’s time for every state to finally expand Medicaid.

I’m calling on every state to #ExpandMedicaid, and I need your help.

Expanding Medicaid can make sure that millions of our fellow Americans have the health care they need, especially in this time of crisis.

Across the US, rural hospitals have been closing for years, millions don’t have health insurance, and more than 54 million people have pre-existing conditions. These are our friends and neighbors, and they’re at the highest risk of life-threatening symptoms from the Coronavirus. This crisis is exposing the cracks in our health care system and we have to act decisively to make changes and save lives now.

If we were to expand Medicaid everywhere, millions of people would be able to afford the health care they need. No matter where you live, or your economic status, you should be able to have access to decent health care, now more than ever. It’s what we need to keep our communities – and ourselves – healthy and safe.
