On Tuesday, I visited the border again to follow up on our state efforts. I made sure to thank every man and woman stationed there. Texans are beyond grateful for their work. They are doing a great job. If Joe Biden won’t protect the border, Texas will.

Dr. Ben Carson and former U.S. Attorney General Matt Whitaker joined me. We bring legislators and leaders to the border regularly to see the issues we are dealing with every day. It would be great if the man who has created this disaster, Joe Biden, would actually take an interest to come and visit in person and see the damage and danger he’s created.

This is the area where we reduced illegal immigrant crossings from 3,000 to 4,000 a day to under a dozen a day. If Biden would just follow our lead…

After we got back from our border visit, we caught a few Astro innings and finished the long day playing Dr. Ben’s favorite game at the hotel. He’s an excellent pool player.

I was outmatched for sure. Dr. Ben is a great patriot and was one of the most outstanding pediatric neurosurgeons in the world. He’s an extraordinary man. I’m honored to call him my friend.

An Interview and Praise Taping with Matt Crouch

I visited the Trinity Broadcasting Network Studios in Fort Worth a few weeks ago for an interview with Matt Crouch, President of TBN, and Dr. Phil.

The TBN studios are home to Dr. Phil’s new network, Merit Street. It is on channel 306 on Direct TV and 247 on Dish, on cable, and live-streamed broadcasting 24 hours a day. Keep an eye out for the interview, airing today, Monday, May 6th, at 8/7pm CT!

We are excited to have Dr. Phil broadcasting from Texas and to see TBN, Matt Crouch, and Dr. Phil team up to create Merit Street Media, which was one of the biggest launches ever of a new network.

Speaking at the Tough Tejano Award Luncheon

I had the privilege of giving the keynote speech at the Texas Latino Conservatives Tough Tejano Luncheon in Houston last Thursday. Congratulations to this year’s recipient, Alberto Gonzales, who was the 80th U.S. Attorney General. An award well-deserved.
