Our top priority is slowing the spread of COVID-19. Consequently, we canceled all in-person campaign events for the foreseeable future and are relying on digital outreach. We appreciate your support during this challenging time.

Friends,

Washingtonians are stepping up in these difficult times to help our communities. Unfortunately, however, some individuals and businesses are profiting from illegal price gouging on products essential for the health and well-being of Washingtonians, including N95 masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes.

My office sent cease and desist letters to six Washington businesses that significantly inflated prices -- in one case by more than 600%! My team also made more than 150 on-site visits to businesses related to price gouging complaints. The Seattle Times reported on the companies who received these letters and on my commitment to investigate all reports of price gouging. >> [link removed]

Price gouging in the midst of a public health crisis is morally wrong. It's also a deceptive and unfair business practice in violation of Washington's Consumer Protection Act.

My office will continue to combat price gouging and help Washingtonians through this challenging time.

Best,
Bob
