Friend, Believe it or not, my opponent, a politician who served 22-years in elected office, screwed up his petitions to get on the ballot for the 2024 congressional race. Michigan requires every candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives to submit 1,000 signatures of valid registered voters from their district. There is a specific petition format and the State requires strict compliance for those signatures to be eligible. One of those requirements is the title of the office sought. My opponent put “U.S. Congress,” which is not an office, nor a title, it is a branch of government that includes the Senate and the House of Representatives. The State requires candidates to use “Representative to Congress,” which I did. |
