Friend of Trust for Public Land,

For nearly 1,000 years, the Ocmulgee Mounds were central to the
life of the Muscogee Nation, until the Muscogee people were forcibly
removed in the 1830s.

A century later, Franklin Delano Roosevelt dedicated 678 acres (about
the area of Central Park in New York City) to establish the mounds as
a national monument, a status further elevated to national historic
park status in 2019.

It's time to bestow this place with the highest honor: urge your
legislators to designate Ocmulgee Mounds into Georgia's first
National Park!

Transforming Ocmulgee Mounds into a national park would place this
treasured resource at the highest level of significance in our
National Park System, rightly honor the original stewards of the
land, and convey the significance of this sacred space. Creation of a
national park will also spur economic development in Middle Georgia by
drawing visitors from across the globe and supporting more than 3,000
jobs.

Please help create Ocmulgee National Park by sending a letter to your
members of Congress today!
