MICHIGAN COALITION FOR RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS "Promoting safe use and ownership of firearms through education, litigation, and legislation." MONDAY E'NEWS   May 2024 CPL Report For the fourth month in a row, Michigan experienced a substantial increase in concealed pistol licenses adding 5,713 net CPLs for a new all-time record high of 840,592. The strong demand is likely the result of gun control legislation which became law in February that makes it more difficult to purchase firearms without a CPL. The full report from the Michigan State Police can be found HERE. Legislative CPL Class "The first step in getting a Michigan Certified Pistol License (CPL) is to complete the statutorily required gun safety class. I was thrilled that the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners (MCRGO) worked with our Senate Second Amendment Caucus to facilitate this CPL training for legislators and staff. Thank you to MCRGO Master Instructor Stephen Alexander, MCRGO Instructor LaMaris Rodgers, MCRGO Director Steve Dulan, and MCRGO Executive Director Brady Schickinger for providing this class on April 22. I know my colleagues appreciated this opportunity tremendously. I encourage everyone, and especially women, to seek out an accredited CPL class and be protected!"
