The Brookings Institution, one of America's leading public policy research organizations, published a report identifying my Dignity Act as a policy solution to save Social Security and Medicare while addressing critical shortages in our healthcare workforce. MY DIGNITY ACT WILL SAVE SOCIAL SECURITY & MEDICARE, END HEALTHCARE WORKER SHORTAGE

My Dignity Act is not just an immigration bill, it is an economic and workforce development bill. And the Brookings Institution, one of America's most important public policy research institutions, agrees! They just released a report saying that the reforms I propose in the Dignity Act are key to addressing Social Security and Medicare' solvency, as well as ending the workforce shortages in healthcare and direct care services that so many Americans rely on. These are some of the most pressing economic issues facing the United States, and my Dignity Act delivers a solution that will not only address those issues head-on, but will also keep us safe in the process. KEEPING OUR COMMUNITIES SAFE WITH OUR LOCAL MIAMI VETERANS

The veterans that make up an important part of our Miami community have an important part to play in our community. Veterans understand best the challenges other veterans face when they return to civilian life, and it was this simple truth that inspired me to introduce the SERVICE Act with my colleagues in the House of Representatives. The SERVICE Act creates a new type of local veteran response team charged with helping other veterans experiencing a crisis, including mental health and substance abuse situations. Following initial response, members of the team would assist in connecting the individual in crisis with community and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) resources. CONDEMNING ANTISEMITISM IN THE UNITED STATES AND ABROAD

For months, I have been sounding the alarm on the sharp rise in antisemitism after Hamas' attack on Israeli civilians on October 7th and the need for U.S. officials to take it extremely seriously. In response to Israel's war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, protestors in college campuses across America have come out in favor of Palestine. While our First Amendment guarantees their right to free speech, some student protestors have taken to shouting violent slogans at their Jewish peers. Some are even harassing those Jewish students physically. In response to this unacceptable behavior at these universities, I voted for the Antisemitism Awareness Act. This legislation will expand protections for Jewish students on college campuses and give them the tools they need to fight these blatant acts of antisemitism. I also joined my colleagues on the Latino-Jewish Caucus to denounce Colombian President Gustavo Petro's decision to cut ties with the State of Israel after accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of perpetrating a 'genocide.'
