Congressman Gonzales spoke at the NSSGA Young Leaders Conference in San Antonio on Monday. It's been another busy week in TX-23 and D.C. I am proud to serve our district in Congress. Each day, I work to address your concerns and protect our liberties. From helping you navigate federal casework to advocating for your priorities, my team and I are always here to help. School Safety Roundtable I hosted the 2nd Bipartisan School Safety and Security Caucus roundtable this week. I have six beautiful children. The love we have for our kids brings us together. We owe it to every child to protect them in the classroom. Creating a safe space for our students, schools, and communities is a top priority of mine in Congress. Thank you to the school safety experts, law enforcement leaders, educators, and parents who participated in this discussion to improve school security measures. Congressman Gonzales and participants at the school safety and security roundtable. Uvalde CISD Superintendent Ashley Chohlis and Uvalde Chief of Police Homer Delgado were in attendance on Thursday. Antisemitism Awareness Act I voted for the Antisemitism Awareness Act this week. In America, you have the right to protest peacefully, but you do not have the right to break the law. That’s exactly what we’ve seen play out for weeks on college campuses across the country. I have a clear message for leadership at our higher education institutions—we will not tolerate blatant antisemitism and “Death to America” chants. Supporting American Excellence NSF supports scientific research in all 50 states. South and West Texas is home to several cutting-edge institutions that are paving the way for new advancements in the scientific field. I was honored to attend the National Science Foundation Gala as a special guest this week to celebrate the achievements of our nation’s remarkable scientists and researchers. I'm committed to working with the National Science Foundation to secure funding to advance opportunities in the STEM workforce across TX-23. Holding President Biden Accountable In TX-23, President Biden’s border crisis directly impacts us every single day. We’ve had enough of the chaos, death, and destruction this administration’s border crisis has caused. My legislation that passed on the House floor this week condemns the Biden administration's handling of the border crisis and demands that the Biden administration take immediate action to end this dire national security threat.
