Dear John,

Even with everything going on in our community and our world right now, it’s important that we allow ourselves the space to celebrate our good news. I’m reaching out to share some exciting news of my own:

my application to be on the ballot in November has officially been accepted!

Don’t worry, this photo was taken when I submitted my paperwork before the Stay Home Stay Safe order went into effect. I’m doing my part to keep my family and yours healthy by staying home!
That’s right – I am officially running for re-election to represent the people of the 52nd House District for one more term.

I would have much rather made this announcement at our kickoff while sharing hugs and handshakes with you all, but even as our routines have been upended, the election cycle keeps moving forward. We can’t let it move forward without us.

The principle of our campaign – putting people over politics – will be the same, but the way we get that message out will have to be different.

We can’t bank on knocking doors like usual, and if you live in the district I’m sure you know that those face-to-face conversations were the foundation of our past campaigns. We’ll need to rely more on e-mails like this, snail mail, digital ads, and be creative in our methods of communicating.

You can help us adjust to this new normal in a few different ways:
1. Follow us on social media! We’re on Facebook ([link removed]) , Twitter ([link removed]) , and Instagram ([link removed]) . By sharing our posts you’ll help us reach people in your community that we cannot reach ourselves.
2. Sign up to be a volunteer at www.votedonnalasinski.com/volunteer/. As our campaign gets up and going we’ll reach out with opportunities to get involved, from virtual phone banking to remote mailing parties and more.
3. Contribute $25 or $50 today, or consider committing to $10 a month between now and the election to help us get our message out to voters however we can. ([link removed])

I’m not sure what things are going to look like between now and November, but this whole experience has really highlighted how important it is to have strong leaders representing us at all levels of government. There is no denying that each vote matters, and I’m looking forward to earning yours again!

Sincerely,

Donna

We hope that you are well and healthy during this very difficult time. We have cancelled our in-person fundraising events until we can meet again safely, which makes email fundraising more important than ever. We know that not everyone is able to financially support our campaign right now, but for those who can, every dollar given will go directly to finding innovative new ways to communicate with voters. We won’t let this virus stop us from making positive change in Lansing, and we hope you’ll stick with us however you can. Thank you for being a part of our team.
