Tomorrow is the first day of National Nurses Week, a time to celebrate and appreciate the invaluable work that nurses do every day. This week, we are highlighting the critical role nurses play in our everyday lives and their wide-ranging skills, including their leadership in health care.
We’re especially proud to highlight the incredible progress our favorite nurse, Lauren, has made in Congress to expand health care access and drive down prescription costs.
During her time in Congress, she has successfully passed 14 key laws, including the Health Care Affordability Act to reduce health care costs and premiums, and the Protecting Moms Who Served Act to enhance maternal care for veterans. Her efforts contributed to a record 21 million people enrolling in health coverage through the Affordable Care Act this year.
We have a lot to be proud of but, John, we’re only just getting started. We still have a lot of work to do to make life better for Illinois’ working families — and this team can accomplish anything when we work together.
Your support helps Lauren and our team in supporting nurses in Illinois' 14th district and nationwide. She's pushing to increase investments in nursing, encourage leadership roles for nurses, and enhance the accessibility and affordability of health care for all of us.
We hope you'll join us in supporting Lauren's efforts in Congress during National Nurses Week.
Together, we can show the big impact nurses have on our communities and continue to make health care more affordable and accessible for everyone.
Thanks for being a part of this.
