Team,
Time Magazine interviewed Donald Trump a few days ago, and his answers were as crazy and extreme as you might have guessed. But one answer in particular caught the country’s attention.
When Trump was asked about the possibility of political violence if he loses in November, he responded: “It always depends on the fairness of an election.”
It would be reprehensible for any candidate to threaten political violence if they lost an election — especially if they incited an insurrection to overturn legitimate election results before.
The Supreme Court, voting experts, and even Trump administration officials rejected Trump’s claims of mass voter fraud during the 2020 election, but that didn’t stop him then. We can’t let Trump’s standard of “fairness” (whatever that might be) dictate whether political violence will occur.
We can’t allow the person who put our democracy on the brink of collapse to take power once again — and we definitely can’t allow him to fill Congress with people like Alison Esposito who will gladly pave the way for Trump’s next assault on democracy.
