Fellow Arizonan,
As we each continue to do our part to help mitigate and slow the spread of COVID-19, we are looking for opportunities to assist and support communities that have been hit hardest by the virus.
Our tribal communities, both on the Navajo and Hopi Reservations, are facing particular challenges right now. Due to their high numbers of at-risk demographics, including elderly, diabetic, and cancer-afflicted individuals, native Arizona families are especially vulnerable to attracting the coronavirus.
With over 350,000 people living in the Navajo Nation, tragically, there have already been 426 confirmed cases as of this week, 17 of which resulted in COVID-related deaths. That’s roughly 5 deaths out of every 100,000 cases – one of the highest ratios anywhere outside of New York and Los Angeles. For context, Arizona as a whole is at .5/100,000.
Please consider donating to support our efforts to provide supplies to the reservations in Northern Arizona. Here are some of the main supplies that they are in desperate need of right now:
- Bleach/Antiseptic Solutions/Wipes/Disinfectants
- Paper Towels
- Toilet Paper
- Spray Bottles
- Masks (N95 or DIY)
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Soap - All Kinds
- Toothbrushes
- Used Children's Books (Infant - 18)
- Coloring Books
- Crayons
- Journals
- Pens
- Pencils
- Bags to distribute supplies in (Large and medium-sized would be ideal. All sizes appreciated)
- Walmart Gift Cards (To buy local oranges for Vitamin C, or other items we can purchase off this list and deliver)
If you plan to participate in this cause, please insert a slip of paper (or write directly on the package) “Republican Party of Arizona” so that those making the deliveries can let the recipients know that Arizona's Republicans stand with them
. Please contact [email protected] for details on where to send these items to ensure that our fellow Arizonans get this much-needed relief as quickly as possible.
Our team of volunteers will be distributing these supplies on a recurring basis to those in dire need. Any aid you can afford to donate will be a godsend for those hit hardest on the reservations. We can’t thank you enough for your support.
In Unity,
Arizona Republicans
