Hi,

Clarence Thomas shouldn’t be ruling on Trump’s immunity case because his wife, Ginni Thomas, attended the January 6 Stop the Steal rally and pleaded with senior White House staff to help Trump overturn the election in the days leading up to the insurrection.1

Here’s how the New York Times put it: “Justice Clarence Thomas, who participated in the case despite his wife [Ginni] Thomas’s own vigorous efforts to overturn the election.”2 The conflict of interest is clear, yet Justice Thomas has ignored calls for him to recuse himself from the case. We need serious, immediate reforms to fix the nation’s highest court — one of those is term limits to keep corrupt conservatives from serving for decades.

Sign the petition: Urge Congress to pass term limits for the Supreme Court!

The Supreme Court could decide if Trump and many others — including Ginni Thomas — can be held accountable for their roles in trying to overturn democratic elections.3 How, in America, is a judge allowed to rule on a case directly impacting his family?!

It’s an injustice that Clarence Thomas can even remain on the Supreme Court after months and months of reports about Thomas’s serious, extensive corruption issues. He’s taken millions in undisclosed luxury vacations and income from right-wing billionaires, he’s changed his positions after webs of right-wing dark money happen to benefit him and his wife — the list goes on and on. It’s very likely Thomas has broken the law in all of these scandals.4

The Supreme Court is supposed to be fair and independent, but corruption scandals from Thomas, Alito, Roberts, and the other conservatives show why we need big changes on the Court.

Add your name: SCOTUS term limits now!

Thanks for taking action,
