As we mark Women's Health Month this May, we must confront the harsh reality facing women across our country.

Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the fallout has been nothing short of devastating. Many women are now being forced to travel across state lines to receive essential abortion procedures. Some are even forced to carry pregnancies to term against their will.

Doctors are being placed in impossible situations, forced to deny life-saving treatment to their patients out of fear of criminal prosecution. In some states, women have faced criminal charges for experiencing a miscarriage. This dystopian reality is the direct result of the extreme MAGA Republicans' agenda that my opponent, Mike Lawler, has supported and enabled.

If we allow them to maintain power, it will only get worse. Lawler and national Republicans are poised to enact a national abortion ban if given the opportunity. That's why I'm running—to stop them.

This isn't just an issue confined to red states. If Lawler and Republicans have their way, they will further roll back access to reproductive health care on a national level.

That's why it's imperative that Democrats take back the House. But we can't achieve that without flipping NY-17.
