But my inconveniences that day were nothing compared to the suffering folks are enduring who have lost the right to make decisions about their own bodies! Which leads me to the reason I’m writing to you today: If we want to restore Roe v. Wade or make progress on any of the other issues that matter to us, we need to elect more Democrats to Congress and that means organizing in rural America. We need to flip seats in states and districts where Republicans currently hold power. And to do that, we need to reach swing voters and even some moderate Republicans and bring them over to our side. But how do we do that in a nation as polarized as this one, especially when right-wing media is so pervasive and demonizing Democrats as radicals and communists every chance they get? Well, the first thing we’ve got to do is stop letting them define us!
In a moment, I’m going to show you a new video by No Dem Left Behind that challenges the false Republican narratives about the so-called “radical” left. It was written by Billy Ray, who wrote the film adaptation of The Hunger Games, and I provided the voiceover pro bono because I believe so strongly in No Dem Left Behind’s work. Please take a look: |
