It's official, John, Molly Cook just WON her special election and is now the first out LGBTQ+ person elected to the Texas State Senate! I'm incredibly proud of Molly, and so glad that she's made history in my home district. For the first time, Texans like me will have a LGBTQ+ voice protecting our rights in the state senate. Join me in wishing her a HUGE congratulations today!
Molly is a sixth generation Texan, born and raised in the Houston area. As a registered nurse with a Master's Degree in public health policy, Molly is uniquely prepared to stand against anti-LGBTQ and anti-choice legislation in the Texas Senate. I know she'll be a loud voice for equality, ensuring that LGBTQ+ issues are prioritized and respected. Add your name to tell Molly congratulations on this big win!
Molly made history today, and she's already back on the campaign trail. This special election ensures she'll hold the seat until next year - and a win in the May 28th runoff will bring her one step closer to securing a full term. She's ready to win again - and we'll be supporting her all the way.
Have a great weekend,
Mayor Annise Parker
