Suspension of EPA Enforcement: The Environmental Protection Agency is giving polluters a “get out of jail free” card by suspending its enforcement of environmental laws. With no real end date to the policy, this change allows industries to violate the law without fear of repercussions in ways that can affect us for decades. Click here to learn more.
The Fight for Free-Flowing Rivers: The negative impacts of our nation’s 90,000 dams pose a series of detrimental problems for ecosystems and human lives. For years, Waterkeepers have been on the ground fighting for free-flowing rivers in their communities. Click here to learn more.
A Fire that Lit Up the World: With the effects of climate change heavily changing the Australian landscape, Waterkeepers are pushing for government recognition to better manage water and the terrain in order to avoid extreme bushfires.
The Source of the Amazon River at Risk: Two major dam projects are planned for Peru’s Marañón River, which is an important tributary to the Amazon. If approved, the dams could have severe biological impacts and displace a thousand people. Click here to learn more.
