Hi John, it’s Val Longhurst, Speaker of the Delaware House! I wanted to take a second to talk about my dear friend – and our future governor – Bethany Hall-Long.
I’ve known Bethany for over 20 years. For two decades, I’ve watched her navigate Legislative Hall, balance state budgets in good times and challenging times, work with leaders from both parties, and positively impact the lives of so, so many people across our state.
As the first woman to lead the House of Representatives in the First State, I know a thing or two about the hard work, dedication, and passion it takes to be a trailblazer. Bethany does too – when she’s elected, she will be the FIRST nurse governor in the entire country and only the second female Governor of Delaware.
Bethany’s leadership touches every corner of the First State, and her utter dedication to public service is amazing to witness – Bethany knows how our government works, she knows the issues inside and out, and most importantly, she knows how to roll up her sleeves to get things done.
