[link removed] [[link removed]]Hi, team. It’s Michelle Vallejo.

I recently wrote a column for the Rio Grande Guardian, because a critical program that helps 1.7 million Texas households afford high-speed internet access expired this week.

High-speed internet has become as essential as electricity and running water in modern life. It’s a lifeline for education, healthcare, employment, and staying connected.

And guess who is a part of the influential Republican Study Committee, the Republican Caucus’ policy arm, whose budget has called for this critical program to end?

My MAGA extremist opponent, Rep. De La Cruz.

If she successfully continues to delay this funding – nearly one in three households in our district risk losing their monthly internet subsidy. This will leave many South Texans cut off from vital internet access. Potentially leaving them digitally isolated and unable to work, seek an education, or access healthcare.

We cannot have representation in office who refuses to fight for affordable lives for working people. We must call on Rep. De La Cruz to fight for us now.

Can you sign the petition to call on Rep. De La Cruz to fight for internet access for Texans? This program is essential for the people of our district to thrive and receive the care they need in the digital age. I would not be asking if it wasn’t important. [[link removed]]
