As you may know, on Monday our friend Erik Gutshall announced that he is resigning from the Arlington County Board. I write to share his statement with you and express how very, very sad we are that he is resigning.

Erik's statement reflects the wonderful person he is: honest, focused on community, and always committed to the greater good. Like so many Arlington residents, I will miss him very much on the Board: he has been like a brother, as we served together.
At this difficult moment for Erik and his family, we must offer our thoughts, prayers, and full support as he fights brain cancer. Many of you have already written messages of love on social media. If you have not, or if you wish to send him or Renee a message, please do so. If you do not have his contact information, you can reply to this email. Erik is getting the messages through Renee and he loves them.
