Welcome to our April wrap-up newsletter! It has been a busy month here in Washington, D.C. If you would like to stay updated on what I'm doing each week, I encourage you to check out my Facebook and Twitter! If you need help with a federal agency, such as the VA, IRS, or Social Security Administration, please call my office at the numbers listed below or visit my website so we can get to work on your behalf! | Rep. Barry Moore Member of Congress | Protecting children online | In response to Iran's horrific attacks against Israel, I voted in favor of H.R. 5921, H.R. 5923, H.R. 6245, H.R. 6015 and H.R. 6408, a series of bills that hold Iran financially accountable for their attacks on Israel. It's past time to stop giving immunity to terrorists who seek to end Israel's existence. | Fighting for FISA warrant requirement | Earlier this month, I voted against the two-year reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) with no proper reforms. FISA has consistently been used to unlawfully search and surveil Americans' personal data. I voted in support of requiring the federal government to get a warrant before spying on American citizens and I will continue to vote to protect Americans' civil liberties. | Supporting Israel's defense against Iran | Israel, our strong ally for more than 75 years, is battling a terrorist group that wants to extinguish its very existence. We must stand with Israel and provide the support and resources necessary to rid the Middle East of Hamas’ terrorist regime. Any threat to Israel is a threat to the United States and our freedoms. That is why I voted in favor of H.R. 8034, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, to provide $26.30 billion to support Israel's defense against Iran and its allies and to reimburse U.S. military operations in the region following recent attacks. | Opposing a $61 billion blank check to Ukraine | This month, I voted against H.R. 8035, the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, a bill that provides $61 billion to Ukraine, including $300 million to secure their border. I will not support sending another blank check to Ukraine when our nation is nearly $35 trillion in debt and nine million illegal immigrants are running through our backyard. | Over the last few months, my Washington office has had a fantastic group of interns. From left to right: Charlotte Santoli, an American University student; Michaela Hendley, a senior at the University of Georgia, Spencer Henson, a University of Alabama graduate and first-year American University graduate student. They have all done excellent work and they have a bright future ahead! | Repeal the 16th amendment | Most Americans had until April 15th to file their taxes. As co-chair of the Sunset and Repeal Caucus, I introduced legislation to repeal the 16th Amendment, which allows the government to tax citizens' income! Americans work hard to pay into the federal treasury, but the Biden Administration's out-of-control spending policies bust their budgets with a 19% inflation tax. Repeal the 16th Amendment and give Americans their money back! | Be sure to take the survey of the month! | I’m committed to supporting the State of Israel. Israel serves a vital role in helping to stabilize an unstable region and I hope to strengthen America's support for Israel as it fights Iran-backed Hamas violence.
Earlier this month, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel, but thankfully the Iron Dome protected our ally and its people from mass destruction. It has been more than six months since Iran-funded Hamas terrorists launched their attack on Israel, where they slaughtered innocent men, women, and children. Hamas killed 1,200 Israeli citizens and took hundreds of hostages, including several American citizens, and they have no intention of ending their repeated assault on Israel. This evil must be condemned today more than ever. Congress must continue to show its support for Israel and resistance to terrorism. I have supported many key bills and resolutions supporting Israel and opposing Hamas: I want to hear from you! | Do you agree that Congress should continue to support Israel? Taking this survey will sign you up for future news and updates from my office. | Learn more about the work I am doing on behalf of the 2nd District in Washington! | My top priority this farm bill cycle has been addressing reference prices | Congrats to Auburn basketball on SEC Tournament win! | Honoring Ingram State Technical College during Second Chance Month | Learn more about the work I am doing on behalf of the 2nd District in Washington! | Washington, D.C. 1504 Longworth House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Phone: (202) 225-2901 | Andalusia 505 E 3 Notch St Suite 322 Andalusia, AL 36420 Phone: (334) 428-1129 Fax: (334) 222-3342 | Wetumpka 408 S.
