For the last couple of weeks, news coverage has been dominated by the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas and the student protests that have spread across colleges and universities across the country — with the vast majority remaining peaceful.
The right to peacefully protest is a hallmark of our democracy and any effort by our elected officials to infringe upon that right must be loudly condemned and thwarted.
So we’re sure it won’t come as a surprise to you that a certain part-time senator seems to have a huge problem with students expressing their right to protest.
Ted and the GOP have made it increasingly clear about their eagerness to suppress any and all speech they don’t like — as a part of their long-term plan to dismantle our democracy.

Unfortunately for Ted, he has NO right to criticize peaceful protests calling for an end to war, especially when he and other Republicans cultivated the violence that led to the January 6th insurrection — a role Ted has never apologized for.
Which doesn’t really surprise us, John. If there’s one thing that motivates the GOP more than anything else, it’s their outward hostility to democracy and free expression.
And we’ve seen several examples of this. From anti-democratic book bans to harmful attacks on the LGBTQ+ community and many more examples, they’re showing us who they really are.
But it's not all bad news, John. We have the ability to thwart the GOP’s authoritarian agenda by cutting out one of its biggest Senate proponents.
