Team,
We have the results from the latest annual survey of DACA recipients, and one statistic was particularly striking: Nearly 9 in 10 respondents (88.4%) reported concerns about their own or their family’s physical safety, ability to access health care or education, the risk of food insecurity, or the risk of homelessness if deported.
The threat of deportation and the risks associated with it are looming over DACA recipients’ heads. We don’t feel secure in the country we live and work in, as DACA protections may be ripped away at any moment.
DACA has allowed hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth to work and attend school without the threat of deportation — and the benefits have been immeasurable. But currently, DACA is hanging by a thread with new attacks coming every day. If we lose DACA, the risk of deportation is back on the table.
DACA was always meant to be a temporary band-aid fix, but with so much on the line, now is the time for Congress and President Biden to deliver a permanent solution. Will you donate now to support our fight for permanent protections?
