John, I have exciting news: Yesterday, Mayor Breed and I
announced the first Entertainment Zone in California in the heart of
San Francisco’s downtown! The Entertainment Zone initiative
stems from Mayor Breed and my shared belief that we can bolster our
local economies and communities by transforming our downtown spaces
from business hubs into lively centers where San Franciscans and
visitors can gather, celebrate, and enjoy the arts.
This initiative is a great example of what’s possible
when leaders work together to achieve real progress on our shared
goals. Creating an Entertainment Zone required that we change state
law, which I did last year with SB 76. Mayor Breed was critical to
helping pass that law and to getting this implemented in San
Francisco. Unfortunately, our leadership on this and many other
projects has made us top targets for anti-progress demagogues who want
to block everything and don’t share our progressive view on downtown
revitalization. Today,
I’m reaching out to ask you to support Mayor Breed’s campaign with a
contribution. She needs your help to keep up the progress we’re
making.
As we celebrate our progress, it's essential to remember the
broader implications of our work. The revitalization of downtown is
about more than just economic recovery – it's about building a city
that reflects our values of inclusivity, innovation, and community.
It's about creating spaces that everyone can enjoy and where every
business has the opportunity to succeed. Now, as we see the
fruits of our labor come to life, I ask you to think about the future
of our city. Mayor Breed and I are determined to keep making progress
on the issues that matter most to San Franciscans – and we still have
work to do – but none of that is possible without your support.
Will
you send a contribution to her campaign today?
Thank you for believing in our vision. Together, we're not
just dreaming of a better San Francisco – we're building it.
Enjoy the Entertainment Zone!
