This week, members of the Georgia congressional delegation took an important step towards establishing our state's first National Park. On Wednesday, we introduced the bipartisan Ocmulgee Mounds Park and Preserve Establishment Act, which would establish Ocmulgee Mounds and surrounding areas in Middle Georgia as a National Park and Preserve. The legislation is led in the Senate by Georgia’s Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock. It is led in the U.S. House by Representatives Austin Scott (GA-08) and Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) Our cultural and historic lands in Georgia must be preserved and protected, and I am so proud to be a cosponsor of this bill! |
