John,
Two years ago this week, the Dobbs decision leaked, confirming that the Supreme Court would soon overturn Roe v. Wade, leaving us without federal protections for abortion and setting our rights back fifty years.
It was a moment we had been preparing for, but that didn’t make it any easier to stomach. As a fully distributed team, we gathered on Zoom to bear witness to each other’s grief and outrage—feelings we know so many of you shared. Like many of you, we shed tears together.
In the two years since then, we’ve felt the reverberations of grief every time an abortion ban is passed, a restriction is enacted, or a story of a patient unable to access care emerges. We know that for every heartbreaking headline we read, there are thousands more stories that go untold.
We’ve also experienced moments of profound hope, every time that voters have shown up to protect abortion rights, and every time that we endorse a new pro-choice candidate, some of whom decided to run for office specifically because they were outraged at this SCOTUS decision.
In the years since the Dobbs leak, abortion has won every time it’s on the ballot, from Kansas to Montana to Ohio, and voters like you have proven decisively that we are a pro-choice country.
As we remember our collective outrage two years ago, we’re harnessing it alongside our hope to power more pro-choice victories this year. Will you join us in reaffirming your commitment to this fight with a donation of any amount?
We couldn’t do this without you.
In solidarity,
The Vote Pro-Choice Team
