Legislative Update
May 1st was National Principals Day. Principals play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our children and communities, often going above and beyond to ensure a nurturing and enriching environment for students and staff alike. Their unwavering commitment to excellence, leadership, and innovation is truly commendable. Thank you to our principals for their tireless dedication, passion, and relentless pursuit of excellence in education.
This week has been filled with consistently late nights on the House floor as the majority party attempts to push through their agenda in the final weeks of this legislative session. So far 6 bills have already had to be tabled as we run the clock out on each legislative day. This includes the controversial ?safe storage? bill that would restrict lawful gun owners' ability to keep their firearm accessible for home defense.
This bill finally came to the floor last night after sitting on the table for most of the week. Our Republican team brought forward a number of amendments to point out the flaws in this legislation that could criminalize countless Minnesotans. This continues the Democrats pervasive attacks on the Second Amendment we continue to see under their majority control.
Tonight we continue with more of these bloated omnibus bills. You can check in live as I'm sure we'll be here for a while: House TV 1
Last night was the opening performance of The Wizard of Oz at the Little Falls High School. This show is filled with laughs, great music, and a heartfelt reminder that there is no place like home. You can get tickets at the door, but hurry they?re expected to go fast. Find all the details for showtimes tonight and tomorrow here: LFCHS
