John,
Did you see what one of my opponents said? He thinks that Maryland is of “secondary” importance in this election.
I’ll cut straight to the point: he is WRONG.
It’s common sense. This is a race to become the next U.S. Senator for Maryland. Anyone who seeks the honor of serving our state should put Marylanders and their concerns before anyone else’s. It’s that simple.
I am running to fight for Maryland and represent ALL the people of Maryland just like I did as Governor.

I’m fighting back and working hard to get my message out. But behind everything my opponent says is a personal war chest of funds igniting his message, no matter how deranged it may be.
In fact, my opponent has now put a staggering $54 MILLION of his own money into his campaign and has smashed all previous spending records for any U.S. Senate primary.
If it wasn’t already clear, I’m up against a lot.
My opponent’s spending doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, so there is no doubt I will remain the financial underdog in this race. That’s why I am asking for your help today.

While I continue to lead in the polls, my opponent will say anything and spend any amount to get ahead in this race. That means we cannot let up for even a minute.

Can you chip in any amount to my campaign so we can maintain our lead? Together, we’ll show my opponents they are making a mistake by underestimating this campaign.
Thank you,
Governor Larry Hogan

A Personal Message from Governor Larry Hogan:

Hi, it’s Governor Larry Hogan.
When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.
Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.
Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.
I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.
It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.

So if you can chip in a donation of $25 or more, it will go a long way in helping me continue building a strong campaign.
For eight years, we proved that the toxic politics that divide our nation didn’t need to divide our state, and we got results! Let’s get back to work again and send a message to Washington that will be heard loud and clear across the country!

Will you join me today and help end the dysfunction in Washington?
Thank you,
Larry Hogan
