Storms, Flooding hit Crenshaw's District
(Picture taken outside Raffa's restaurant at Kings Harbor)
Sadly, this week many of our neighborhood homes, businesses and schools have been devastated by flooding due to the recent storms. Please know, my office has been working non-stop to be in touch with County, City and State officials, along with the Governor's office, the Texas Department of Emergency Management and agencies across the federal government.
Crenshaw Takes on Biden Administration Efforts to Target Texas Medicaid and Texas Hospitals
In a House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee hearing this week, I questioned Centers for Medicaid Services (CMS) Deputy Administrator Daniel Tsai about CMS’s latest interpretation of state financing requirements, which if implemented, would cost the State of Texas billions of dollars and hike health care costs for constituents across the district. Additionally, he asked why CMS is targeting Texas, along with Missouri and Florida (all Republican led States) with attempted audits when implementing the new interpretation of the Medicaid financing rules. CMS had not given Democrat-led states the same scrutiny, as detailed in both National Review and the Wall Street Journal Editorial page.
Crenshaw Speaks to students from The John Cooper School
This week I had the opportunity to speak with a group of middle schoolers from The John Cooper School. They were in Washington, DC on a school trip as a part of learning history and government. I always enjoy speaking with students from our District. These students were very bright and engaged, and they kept me on my toes with their smart questions.
Crenshaw discussed Regional Priorities with Greater Houston Partnership
This week I also had the opportunity to speak with members from the Greater Houston Partnership. I thanked them for all they do for the greater Houston region, including their commitment to the economic prosperity of our region. I also discussed a number of energy and infrastructure priorities I have for the region. Including, pushing back on overregulation that is crippling our energy industry, and stalls infrastructure projects that are vital to my district and the greater Houston area.
It’s a well-known fact that fentanyl precursors come from China, but just how deeply involved is the Chinese government in the drug trade? Investigative journalist Peter Schweizer’s research has exposed a strategic partnership between the CCP and the Mexican drug cartels that goes way beyond shipping precursors. In my latest podcast, Peter uncovers China’s central role in the supply chain, the distribution, and the money laundering that enables the cartels to kill tens of thousands of Americans every year with deadly fentanyl. Peter also highlights the personal and financial ties that China has developed with U.S. politicians to influence policy decisions.
