News flash, John: Coloradans don’t like anybody messing with our freedoms – including reproductive freedom.
Here’s what happened:
Two different groups were working to get an abortion measure on the ballot in November.
Coloradans for Protecting Reproductive Freedom wants to enshrine the right to an abortion directly into the state constitution. Colorado Life Initiative (the anti-abortion group) wants to redefine pregnancy at ANY stage as “a living child” and define all abortions as “dismemberment.”
Both groups had to collect 124,238 signatures to get their measure on the ballot.
Coloradans for Protecting Reproductive Freedom turned in more than 225,000 signatures on April 12th – six days ahead of the deadline. The anti-abortion Colorado Life Initiative only collected “tens of thousands” of signatures.
The decision to get an abortion is personal and private. They can only be made by the person who needs the abortion and their doctor. It’s nobody else’s damned business.
Coloradans know that, and we’re going to prove it again at the polls in November when we make abortion a constitutionally protected right.
I’m incredibly proud of the fact our state is a safe haven for women who need reproductive care they are denied in other states. But if people like Lauren Boebert get their way, Republicans will pass a national abortion ban and override our state constitution.
We can’t let that happen, John, so my team and I are putting it all on the line to make sure Boebert is defeated.
We’re already outpolling and outraising Boebert, and we need to hold the line. Can you pitch in $25, $50, $100 or more today to help me FLIP this seat in November?
