Arizona Republic: Gov. Katie Hobbs signs repeal of Arizona abortion ban

Katie signed the bill that officially repeals Arizona's Civil War-era abortion ban! While she and people across Arizona celebrated the end of the 1864 ban, Katie also reminded Arizonans that more still needs to be done before reproductive freedom is fully restored in Arizona. She urged voters to support the abortion ballot initiative this November.

KJZZ: Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs sets veto record

Katie has officially set a record for vetoes since taking office in 2023, surpassing Gov. Napolitano's 181 vetoes over her six years in office. Katie promised to focus on Arizona's serious challenges and to stop the chaos coming out of the legislature, and that's exactly what she's doing.

The Gila Herald: Governor Hobbs Announces Arizona Community College Workforce Scholarship Program

Katie recently introduced the Arizona Community College Workforce Scholarship Program, which offers financial aid to students attending Arizona’s community colleges. The program will help students pursuing education in high-demand fields cover tuition and fees. This initiative aims to bridge the skills gap and foster economic growth across Arizona.

Arizona Family: Gov. Katie Hobbs launches website for abortion, reproductive resources

Katie and Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes worked together to launch ReproductiveHealth.az.gov. Their new website aims to educate Arizonans about their healthcare rights and help them find reproductive healthcare providers and resources amidst the confusion caused by the state's abortion bans.

KVOA: Gov. Hobbs secures EPA fuel waiver ahead of summer gas formula change

Katie secured a fuel waiver from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) before Arizona's gas formula change that happens each summer, causing gas prices to rise. The waiver will allow Arizona to maintain its current fuel formula, which prevents supply disruptions and price spikes during the transition to minimize the impact on consumers.

ABC15: Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs announces $500K investment to help more students complete FAFSA

Katie Hobbs pledged a $500,000 investment to boost FAFSA completion rates among students. The investment targets underserved communities, aiming to simplify the financial aid process and increase college enrollment statewide.

Arizona Family: Gov. Hobbs signs historic water rights agreement with Colorado River Indian Tribes

Katie is proud to have collaborated with the Colorado River Indian Tribes to come to a groundbreaking water rights agreement, restoring tribes' rights to their own water. The tribes will be able to benefits from future water leases, allowing them to generate resources for their economies and promote water conservation.
