We hate to reach out with bad news, but this is serious: an extreme, near-total abortion ban has just gone into effect in Florida.
Thanks to Donald Trump's efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade , there are no longer protections in place for states like Florida. In too many states, extreme bans are now the law of the land.
STOP EXTREME BANS [[link removed]]Make no mistake, John – Republicans have created a healthcare crisis for women across the country. This is the most egregious infringement of reproductive rights in over 50 years .
[link removed] [[link removed]]Here in California, we know what it's like to fight for reproductive rights and win. We knocked on doors, we called voters, we talked to our neighbors, and we scattered yard signs across the state. Now, our friends in Florida are working hard to do the same, and they need OUR help. That's why we're standing with Florida Democrats to help them fight for reproductive rights. This isn't just a Florida issue; it's a freedom issue.
We need to do everything we can to fight back against extreme abortion bans. With 1 in 3 American women of reproductive age now living under an abortion ban, they're at risk of being:
🏥 Turned away from emergency rooms and life-saving medical treatment.
⚖️ Forced to go to court to seek permission for necessary medical attention.
🚙 Required to travel hundreds of miles to receive health care, if they make it that far.
In 2024, we’re in the fight for women’s lives.
