The Biden administration’s reckless approach to national security is nothing new, but we may have hit rock bottom as senior officials explore options to resettle certain Palestinians from Gaza right here in America.
What could possibly go wrong?
For starters, we don’t have a spotless track record when it comes to thoroughly vetting the folks we so freely let into our country. Let’s do a quick review of the facts:
- In 2023 alone, Border Patrol agents encountered 169 people from the terror watch list at our southern border.
- Dozens of illegal immigrants with "serious criminal histories" are attempting to cross into the U.S. each day.
- FBI Director Christopher Wray recently warned about dangerous networks coming across the border—one with ISIS ties.
Keep in mind that these are just the people we know of. Amid the downright chaos of millions of migrants pouring in since President Biden took office, there’s a good chance these numbers could be a whole lot scarier.
But I'd also like to remind you that countries a stone’s throw away from Gaza have their borders sealed shut right now. In fact, recent satellite photos show bulldozers clearing land near Egypt’s border with Gaza. Anonymous officials say they’re preparing a cement wall that could keep 150,000 people at bay in case of a breach.
Let’s face the facts here, folks: Leaders in Egypt, Jordan, and other Arab countries know that a mass exodus from Gaza will bring Hamas militants into their countries, opening them up to a whole host of security problems. How is this simple fact lost on President Biden and his cronies?
And let's talk dollars and cents. Every refugee comes with a hefty price tag, from housing aid to other benefits. It seems like this administration's just itching to pile on more costs, consequences be damned.
All things considered, it’s insanity to entertain the idea of rolling out the welcome mat for another group we can’t properly vet or pay for. The risks are too great, and in a worst-case scenario, they could prove catastrophic. We don’t need to import another national security risk—and we sure as heck don’t need to add to our mountain of debt.
The U.S. ought to take a play out of Egypt’s book and think about the safety and well-being of our own dadgum country for once. It’s time for the White House to secure our borders, stop the migrant madness, and put America first.
