Folks, on Earth Day I was able to hike the lands where we’re fighting to establish the Chuckwalla National Monument. Do you support protecting our public lands?

I introduced this legislation to protect our desert lands, improve air quality, expand access to recreational outdoor areas, and help reconnect our local communities with our beautiful public lands. Public lands that we have a duty to preserve, protect, and honor for generations to come.

I am particularly proud of the collaboration and leadership of the robust coalition of local tribal leaders, conservationist groups, community organizations, and youth leaders. They have built the necessary momentum and agreements to ensure this project’s success.

Chuckwalla National Monument is important for the communities I represent, our state, and our nation, which is why I’m urging President Biden to designate this critical public land as a national monument, for our people, our environment, and the critical desert habitats. Together we will make history for the Coachella Valley and CA-25.
