Northwestern President Michael Schill Must Resign

On April 25, 2024, pro-Hamas rioters at Northwestern University launched an encampment on Deering Meadow, spending several days calling for divestment, intimidating Jewish students, and chanting antisemitic, genocidal slogans including "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" and calling for a "worldwide intifada."

Rather than hold them accountable, President Schill gave the pro-Hamas mob a seat at the table, legitimizing their antisemitic rhetoric and demands and rewarding their despicable behavior by granting them permission to continue protesting on campus as well as granting them scholarships, professorships, a renovated community home, a pathway to potential university implementation of the antisemitic BDS movement, and protection from anyone who wishes to hold the rioters accountable. Meanwhile, neither the statement from President Schill nor the agreement reached make any mention of, let alone accommodation for, the Jewish students who have been suffering from the blatant harassment and antisemitism stemming from the pro-Hamas encampment.

It is clear that President Michael Schill cannot or will not enforce campus rules or take action to protect Jewish students on campus. Call on him to resign immediately and call on the Board of Trustees to remove him if he fails to do so.
