Greetings, We hope you have had a great week! It’s been a busy week as we closed out April and welcomed in a new month. Among a lot of important designations, May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Congressman Kim helped celebrate the start of Heritage Month this week as we look forward to a full month of celebrating the diverse cultures and contributions of AANHPI communities. As always, we hope you find these updates and resources helpful. Honoring a Colleague and Friend, Congressman Donald Payne Jr. This week, Congressman Kim delivered remarks on the House floor to honor Congressman Payne Jr., who passed away last week. Our entire office thanks the late Congressman for his dedicated service to New Jersey. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his friends, family, and staff. | April Numbers Are In! We are proud to have closed 346 cases and returned $2,037,854 in April to neighbors in Mercer, Monmouth, and Burlington Counties. Our casework team is hard at work to help you through any issues you may be having with a federal agency. If you need help, do not hesitate to reach out to our office! | Commemorating Jewish American Heritage Month It is Jewish American Heritage Month! May is a special opportunity to uplift the contributions of Jewish communities across New Jersey and our country. May we all reflect on our responsibility to stand against antisemitism and push through darkness to find hope and strength in togetherness. Sharing Resources for Small Business Week We hope you had a chance to head downtown, take a stroll down Main St, and shop small this week during National Small Business Week! We are committed to having entrepreneurs’ backs in Congress and are always looking for ways to support New Jersey’s small businesses. In March, our office hosted a couple of webinars focused on support for small businesses from the Small Business Administration (SBA) and elsewhere. Check them out to learn all about the SBA’s resources and programs as well as more about federal contracting opportunities, specific resources for women, minority, or veteran-owned businesses, and more! And make sure that you subscribe to our Small Business Newsletter if you have not done so already! | Celebrating Service to our Servicemembers and Military Families At the end of April and the Month of the Military Child, we were proud to honor Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst’s School Liaisons for all they do on behalf of our military children and families. Nikalea and Angelia go above and beyond, working with local schools and the Base, to understand and meet families’ unique needs. From creative programs that build a bridge between our community and the Base, to everyday support that smooths military children’s transition from school to school, it was a privilege to showcase their work last month! Now as we recognize Military Appreciation Month, we continue to celebrate our military community and continue working to make sure they always have the benefits and resources they earned. Read their full story and consider nominating our next Service Spotlight! | Infrastructure Investments Continue! Lead-free drinking water should be a right, never a luxury. Congressman Kim is proud that the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues to deliver our state critical funding for essential needs. This week, the Environmental Protection Agency announced a major allocation of funds to replace lead service lines, including $123 million for New Jersey to reduce the risk of lead-contamination and look after public health!
