A note from Chrissy

They say the spring is in like a lion and out like a lamb. But looking at my schedule, I'd have to say it leaned a little heavily on the lion side.

From fighting to improve the quality of life for military service members and their families and fighting for critical aid for Ukraine to winning the PA-06 primary (thank you!), I'm so excited to share some of what I've been up to the past few weeks!

Aid for Ukraine

Last month, I delivered a speech on the House floor regarding Speaker Johnson's failure to bring forward a vote on Ukraine aid, despite the fact that the bill would likely resoundingly pass. The speaker finally allowed a vote on this critical aid package, and as I expected, the bill passed with wide bipartisan support. I'm proud to stand with our Ukrainian allies as they fend off Russia's aggression and their considerably larger forces. We cannot let Europe fall to the chaos of war again, and in the interest of democracy more broadly and our own national security specifically, the U.S. has a responsibility to join our allies in helping. This package will help Ukraine resupply (they are literally running our of bullets) and reduce the chance that Vladimir Putin will attack a NATO ally.

Improving the quality of life for our service members

Growing up in a military family and as a veteran of the Air Force myself, I understand the problems that our service members today face: high living costs, limited access to child care, long wait times for medical care, and much more. That's why I was eager and honored to be selected to co-lead the bipartisan Quality of Life Panel within the House Armed Services Committee. After ten months of research and hearings, we just published a report that, once passed into law, will significantly address these problems. The recommendations include pay increases, housing allowances, and eliminating referral requirements for some medical specialists. It's simply the right thing to do, but solving some of these challenges should lead to increased recruitment, longer service contracts, and improved health and wellness for our service members and their families.

Meet my new campaign manager!

It's my please to introduce you to Jenn, my brand-new campaign manager! I worked with Jenn this winter as she superbly ran the process of collecting signatures for petitions to get me on this month's primary ballot. She was reliable, organized, and an absolute pleasure to work with.

Jenn has worked on campaigns in our district since 2018, and she's just what we need on Team Chrissy. I hope you'll join me in giving her a warm welcome!
