Debbie’s battleground race is critical, especially in a time when our bodily autonomy and right to privacy are being threatened on all sides. Across the country, states are pushing increasingly extreme measures that strip away reproductive rights, target birth control access, attack in vitro fertilization treatments, and so much more. And Florida’s Supreme Court recently issued a ruling that allowed an extreme, and dangerous, six-week abortion ban to take effect just days ago.

GOP extremists will stop at nothing to undermine our reproductive rights, and their next scheme is passing a nationwide ban. That’s why keeping our Senate blue is more important now than ever before, friend — and Debbie's race could be our only chance to do it. Bodily autonomy and freedom of privacy will be on the ballot this November — make no mistake. Debbie's opponent, Rick Scott, has publicly, and proudly, stated that he will vote for a nationwide ban on abortions if reelected. That’s why we need to elect Debbie this fall: so we can keep our Democratic majority and defend our reproductive rights. This is the only way we can stop a national ban and codify Roe v. Wade.

As one of her earliest supporters in this critical race, take it from me: Debbie has what it takes to win. She's already flipped a battleground seat blue to become the first South American immigrant ever elected to Congress. In the House, she’s fought tirelessly to protect women’s rights to health care and abortion. Like me, she knows that the decision to have an abortion is a decision that must be made between a woman, her family, and her doctor — not extremist politicians who want to criminalize health care providers.
