Skagit County to Host Public Hearing on Proposed Drainage Utility Assessment Rate Updates
The Board of Skagit County Commissioners will hold a public hearing regarding an Ordinance Amending Chapter 12.19 Skagit County Code and Rates and Charges for the Skagit County Drainage Utility Assessment on Monday, May 20th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room located at 1800 Continental Place in Mount Vernon. The public hearing provides an opportunity for citizens to provide comment on the proposed fee changes.
Proposed revisions to Skagit County Code and the Drainage Utility Rates and Charges would more closely reflect the actual costs for services such as drainage concern response, drainage projects, stormwater management, programmatic work related to regulatory NPDES stormwater permit, and others. The Rates and Charges were last revised in 2013. To obtain information regarding the proposed revisions, please visit the Skagit County Drainage Utility Program webpage or contact Skagit County Public Works at (360) 416-1400.
The public is encouraged to comment on the proposal by either submitting written comments via e-mail to Jenn E. Johnson, Public Works Natural Resource Division Manager, at [email protected], or mailed comments may be sent to 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. Citizens can also provide verbal testimony at the public hearing either in-person or via Zoom at the link on the County Commissioner’s website below.
