1) DOJ’s FlimFlam Lawsuit Against Google Winds Down

We’ve come up with a brilliant idea on how Google could defend itself against the Justice Department’s sham antitrust lawsuit. If Google would just figure out how to LOSE billions of dollars instead of its alleged crime of EARNING billions of dollars of profits for millions of American shareholders, the Biden administration would drop the lawsuit and shower the search engine firm with federal subsidies – just as it has for the chip makers, like Intel.

It’s the same strategy that Mel Brooks thought up in his famous Broadway farce "The Producers".

Except this is no farce. In Washington, capitalism has been turned on its head. The way to make money is to lose money and the way to lose money is to make it.

Google is being sued for making a product that hundreds of millions of people use every day. The other Magnificent 7 tech firms that are holding up the stock market are facing similar lawsuits.

Closing arguments are concluding today in this saga.

Here is Google's (winning, we hope) argument in its simplest form:

Biden's case is that Google is the dominant search engine because of illicit deals to make it the default. But it’s their platform, they should be able to do whatever they want with it. There are scores of other search engines for consumers to choose from. Most of them are far inferior.

We will ask this question again: how can any consumer be harmed by Google when the search engine AND the searches are absolutely FREE? Even McDonalds doesn’t give its hamburgers away to get people to come into the store.

We don’t know if Google or the government will be the losers in this expensive lawsuit. But what we know for certain is the winners will be the lawyers – and Google’s Chinese and European competitors.

2) Milei Mania Free Markets Are Working in Argentina

Bloomberg reported yesterday that Argentina’s inflation rate has fallen by two-thirds, or from 26% last year, to 9% a month in April. That’s still a long way from price stability – but it’s a vast improvement. Some food and beverage prices are starting to fall.

The central bank cut its key interest rate for the third time in three weeks as officials bet on a sustained slowdown in consumer prices, and race to shrink the central bank’s interest-bearing liabilities.

The very good news is that for the first time in years, workers may see a real increase in their take-home pay. It comes in the wake of Milei slashing government spending.

Hey! Maybe Biden should try some of this shock therapy!

3) Black Pro School Choice Democrat Beats Back the Philly Teachers Union

Nothing in life is as exhilarating as being shot at and missed.  So Amen Brown, a moderate, inner-city Democrat who serves in Pennsylvania’s State House, must be on top of the world.

Brown courageously took on the teachers union when he voted for a $100 million school choice program.

Cass Green, a community organizer backed by the Philadelphia teachers union and her former employer, George Soros-backed radical District Attorney Larry Krasner, challenged Brown in last week’s primary and made Brown’s support of school choice for black children the driving issue.

After several recounts, Brown squeaked through by 42 votes.

Congrats to Brown!

This has us wondering. Is there any chance the Kennedy family may award Brown their annual Profile in Courage prize for standing up against formidable adversaries to do what is right? We doubt it.

4) Hollywood Is a Climate Propaganda Machine

We've previously reported on the total takeover of Hollywood by anti-growth extreme climate warriors.

Roughly 10 percent of the most popular movies in the last decade include scenes in which characters warn of climate change. Case in point: In “Justice League”, Batman pauses to note "Mankind's melting the polar ice caps, destroying the ecosystem."

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which runs the Oscars, holds an annual conference on how to communicate climate doom “narratives.”

But things can always get worse.

Good Energy is a Los Angeles-based “action” tank with the goal that 50 percent of new TV and film projects acknowledge climate change within the next three years.

Here are some of the findings: nearly a quarter of Warner Brothers films and 40% of DC Comics movies now include climate change warnings.  But they also list disappointments.

We found it comical that Good Energy mourns that “only 2 percent of films contained a character who is experiencing climate anxiety...only 9.6 percent of films portrayed a character riding a bicycle, and 1.2 percent of films featured characters who are identified as vegan or vegetarian.”

Wait a minute. Does Hollywood really want more Americans to go into depression because of imminent climate Armageddon?

5) Quote of the Day – The Revolution Must Be Catered

Johannah King-Slutzky, a graduate student in Marxist studies, demanded the university divest from Israel. She then complained that Columbia was not delivering food to the building her group was occupying.

‘We’re saying that [Columbia is] obligated to provide food to students who have paid for a meal plan here,’ she told a news conference. ‘Do you want students to die of dehydration and starvation or get severely ill, even if they disagree with you?… I mean, it’s crazy to say because we are on an Ivy League campus, but this is like basic humanitarian aid we’re asking for. Like, could people please have a glass of water?’
