Hi Friend-

This has been a stressful time for our community.

I want to thank everyone who is an essential worker and those who are
helping in their own way. Over the last week, our team has delivered
supplies to nursing homes, food to hospital workers and first
responders, and hosted informative tele-town halls with seniors, local
residents, and the small business community. We will continue to do all
that we can to help our community.

But, I wanted to take a moment to check in with you and provide
information related to COVID-19 that you might find helpful.

The recent CARES Act has expanded coverage to more workers who are not
traditionally eligible for unemployment, such as self-employed,
contractors, furloughed workers and more. For more information on
who's covered and updates to the unemployment insurance visit our
CARES ACT EXPLAINED page:

If you're a small business owner, the CARES Act is providing
additional assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
This includes an expansion of the Small Business Economic Injury
Disaster Loans & Emergency Economic Injury Grants, and creation of the
Paycheck Protection Program. Visit our CARES ACT EXPLAINED page for more
information on relief for small businesses:

   SUPPORT FOR IMPACTED BUSINESSES

On Monday, I held a small business telephone townhall with Senator Marco
Rubio, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business, to discuss
the CARES Act and answer a few of your questions. Watch the Small
Business Townhall now:

Remember social distancing doesn't have to mean social isolation.
Don't forget to call your neighbors, friends, family or even send them
an email.

If you need help coping, contact the NYS Emotional Support Helpline at

Be safe and stay strong, we'll get through this together.
